Mud Hero's For Our Hero's
In August of 2013 the Cairns family received the news that their 3 year old daughter Kate was suffering from cancer diagnosed as acute lymphoblast leukemia. Since Kate was diagnosed, she has had numerous treatments and procedures. She continues to receive treatments and she is determined to beat this cancer!
Last year our 57 member team participated in the Mud Hero Race near Grand Beach Manitoba. Mud Hero is 6km obstacle course, with 15+ obstacles, through the mud and bushes. In doing so we raised over $7200 for the Pediatric Oncology Ward at the Children's Hospital in honour of Kate Cairns.
This year we are doing it again but we are going bigger and better. We will again be running in honour of Kate but have also decided to expand our honour list to include Gracie Herntier and Brett Adams.
We will also be running in three races;
1. Miller Park Spartan Sprint on May 23rd, 2015 in Milwaukee.
2. Spartan Manitoba Sprint on July 11th, 2015 in Grunthal, Manitoba.
3. Mud Hero Winnipeg on July 25th, 2015 in Grand Beach, Manitoba.
All the money raised will be donated to the Pediatric Oncology Ward at the Children's Hospital in honour of these three incredible individuals.
By making a donation to a member of our team, you are helping to make a difference in child health and child health research. With your support, we can do more for the children and families that need us.
