My name is Ellyiot. When I was 5 years old my hip started hurting when I ran around. I found out I had Developmental Hip Dysplasia and I would need an operation to fix it. On December 10, 2020 I went to The Children’s Hospital and Dr. Jellicoe and Dr. Archer fixed my hip. My operation took 6 hours and I had to stay in the hospital for 5 nights and 6 days. I had to wear a cast on both legs and be in a wheelchair. I had to learn how to walk again. 

After my operation I was scared and sad. I was lucky though because the hospital had activities and surprises that really cheered me up. I liked playing BINGO and when the music therapist would come. I got surprises like Lego, a Frozen watch and a gingerbread house to decorate. 

I want to raise money for The Children’s Hospital so they can plan more activities and buy more toys for kids that have to stay there when they are sick. It is no fun being in the hospital but this is something we can do to cheer kids up when they are going through a tough time.
