I'm raising money in support of Suspended Superheroes!
As a mother and a Clinical Psychologist and Specialty Lead of the Child and Adolescent Service for Clinical Health Psychology at the Children's Hospital and Shared Health, I know how important mental health is to the wellbeing of children and their families.
Mental Health is a part of health, and they are interconnected in vital ways. Children facing medical challenges and their families experience so much and it can naturally take its toll. When we as health professionals and families pay attention to the whole child they heal faster, are healthier and happier, and we can prevent future issues.
This is why I signed up to be a Suspended Superhero. My goal is to raise money to improve our ability to take care of the whole child through supporting mental health research for children. The money I raise will go straight towards our university's first ever Endowed Professorship in Child Psychology! This will help ensure that we, in Manitoba, continue to make gains in supporting children's health as a whole. Please show your support for children's mental health by donating today.
Together, we can be the superheroes these children deserve.
Please make a donation to my page by clicking the purple "Make a Gift" button and help me to reach my fundraising goal!
About
In collaboration with The Children’s Hospital Foundation, Voyageur Technical is thrilled to announce the upcoming 4th Annual Suspended Superheroes event, scheduled for October 3rd, 2025. Building on the success of previous year's events, to which the RCMP Emergency Response Team and Winnipeg Police Service Tactical Support Team provided on-rope ‘superheroes’, we are excited to once again create an opportunity to bring cherished memories to children and their families spending their Halloween in the hospital.
This event goes beyond its festive nature; it fosters a strong sense of community and belonging among children and families. The timing aligns seamlessly with the holiday spirit, providing children with an unforgettable experience during a challenging time.
The proceeds collected from this event will serve improve healthcare for children in Manitoba, Northwest Ontario and Nunavut,
