To honour 6 year old Alexander, who passed away from a brain tumor in 2017, we have an annual bike ride & toy drive.
June 1st 2024 will be the 7th annual bike ride from Winkler to the Children's Hospital in Winnipeg, a 130 km ride. Each year we raise funds and collect items that the Child Life Department needs to support sick and injured children.
During Alexander's stay in the hospital, it was a highlight for him to participate in activities and attend the play rooms in the hospital. These were moments of normalcy and joy during a scary and challenging time. As parents, it brought us comfort knowing that these play rooms existed for the sole purpose of enjoyment for our son while our lives were turned upside down.
Jessica, from the Child Life team impacted us greatly. Her caring heart and joyful attitude brightened our days and we all enjoyed our trips to the playroom with her.
