Hello! If you’ve found your way here after receiving one of our Candy Cane Wishes this holiday season, then our festive magic is truly working! We are two sweet sisters, Chloe and Molly (sporting red coats), who gifted you a Christmas wish on one of our daily outings. Our aim is to raise funds for the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba. We would appreciate a donation of any size as a pay-it-forward act of kindness this Christmas. We would LOVE to see more organic donations from kind strangers this year, even if you can only spare a dollar or two. If financial donation isn’t possible, we understand and would simply love to have you follow us on Instagram to support our efforts, goals, and stay updated on our fundraising.
All donations made receive an Official Charitable Tax Donation letter emailed directly to you from the Children’s Hospital Foundation. This means that whether you donate anonymously, in memory of someone, or on behalf of a company/ corporation, your generous contribution can be written off on your 2023 taxes.
Last year (2023), with the help of our mom and dad, as well as the kindness of random strangers, family, and friends, we successfully surpassed our $1,500 goal at $1,850.00 for the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba and $1556.00 for the 2022 holiday season.
Once again, as the “Candy Cane Sisters,” we are spreading Christmas cheer with our Candy Cane Wishes for the 2024 holiday season – as always we will set our goal to $1,000 for children’s health but hope to surpass last years goal if we can.
Another way we have contributed to raising money for the Children’s Hospital is by submitting our favourite recipes to the annual Children’s Christmas Cook Book fundraiser hosted by Red River CO-OP. Last year, Red River CO-OP and the children who participated in the cookbook were able to raise an additional $10,000 for the Children’s Hospital. WHY WE ARE FUNDRAISING: While we are both very young and just beginning to understand the magic and excitement of the Christmas season, our parents hope that we can learn from a young age that Christmas is about far more than giving and receiving gifts. It’s about spending time with those we love, collecting memories instead of things, spreading cheer and kindness, and most importantly, remembering that this is the perfect time of year to reflect and be grateful for all that we are fortunate to have, including our health.
As parents, we are constantly counting our lucky stars that both of our girls are healthy. We know that this can change at any given time, especially when you least expect it.
And with that, our two little girls in red coats carried with them Candy Cane Wishes and began handing them out over the holidays to complete strangers, family, and friends.
Wishing you a happy & healthy Christmas and Holiday Season!
Warmly,
The Candy Cane Sisters, Chloe & Molly #kidshelpingkids
